It is reported that the UK will begin distributing the COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University earlier next month.

The British Daily Telegraph reported that the government plans to begin distributing the AstraZeneca vaccine on the 4th of next month.

Once drug regulatory authorities approve the use of the vaccine, a large vaccination center will be set up in sports stadiums or conference halls in the second week of January next year.

The vaccine is expected to be approved as early as the 27th.

As AstraZeneca submitted data for emergency use approval on the 21st, authorities continued to deliberate on Christmas holidays.

“We are pleased to inform you that the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine developed in the UK has submitted full data to the Pharmaceutical and Health Care Products Regulatory Authority (MHA) for approval.”

Since AstraZeneca vaccine can be stored at normal refrigeration temperatures, it is expected to be easier to distribute than Pfizer vaccine, which must be stored at -70 degrees Celsius cryogenic temperature.

The European Union also initiates vaccination in a number of member states as the Commission approves the use of the Pfizer vaccine.

“It’s a pleasant Christmas message. Now trucks are moving across Europe and Germany to deliver the first vaccine.”

Germany and Hungary were vaccinated as soon as they received the vaccine on the 26th local time, and France, Italy, and Spain will also start vaccinating soon.
