Yellow Warning for Rainfall and Thunderstorms in 15 Areas of Bulgaria on Saturday

A yellow code for significant rainfall and thunderstorms has been issued in 15 areas of the country for Saturday. It applies to the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Gabrovo, Lovech, Sofia-region, Sofia-city, Pernik, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik and Plovdiv.

Before noon in the northwestern half of the country, and after noon and until midnight – and in the southeast, cumulus-rain clouds will develop. In many places there will be intense precipitation with quantities of up to 50 l/sq.m, thunderstorms, and hailstones are expected. Due to the passage of a cold atmospheric front, the maximum temperatures will slightly decrease and will be between 22 and 27 degrees, in Sofia – around 22 degrees. It will blow to a moderate northeast wind. There is less chance of precipitation along the Black Sea.

It will be mostly sunny, with a moderate northeasterly wind. Maximum temperatures will be between 21 and 24 degrees. The temperature of the sea water will be between 20 and 22 degrees. The excitement of the sea will be weak. Cumulonimbus clouds will develop in the mountains and there will be intense rainfall and thunderstorms in many places.

The temperatures in the resorts will remain unchanged – the maximum will be from 11 to 16 degrees. On Sunday, it will rain and thunder in many places in Western and Central Bulgaria, while sunny weather will prevail in the eastern regions. At the beginning of the new week, there will be more sunny hours in the morning, and precipitation – mainly in Western Bulgaria and in the mountains.
