Yellow code for storms and hail in half of Bulgaria

Before noon on Wednesday it will be mostly sunny with temporary increases in cloudiness over the western regions and in isolated places it will rain and thunder, NIMH reports.

Around and in the afternoon, with the penetration of relatively cool air in more places in the northwestern half of the country, cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop. In some places there will be short-term, in some areas significant precipitation, thunderstorm activity and temporary intensification of the wind. 12 districts of Western Bulgaria have a yellow code for thunderstorms, there will be conditions for hail.

Yellow code for dangerous weather has been announced for 11 districts in Western and Central Bulgaria – Vidin, Vratsa, Montana, Sofia district and city, Pernik, Kyustendil, Lovech, Pazardzhik, Blagoevgrad and Smolyan. Short-term storms and hail in places are expected there.

It will remain mostly sunny in the southeast, but during the night on Thursday it will rain and thunder in some places.

The wind in Northwestern Bulgaria will be oriented from northwest to moderate, in the rest of the country it will have an eastern component, mostly weak.

The prevailing maximum temperatures will be between 28 and 33 degrees, for Sofia 28, along the Black Sea coast 28, in the northern regions between 30 and 33 degrees, in Southern Bulgaria up to 34.

It will be cooler on Thursday, with precipitation expected in more places in Eastern Bulgaria. Temperatures will be between 25 and 30 degrees.
