Italia Viva insists that the revocation risks becoming a boomerang: “Is it worth embarking on a dispute that the State can lose?”.
De Micheli wrote to Conte: evaluate an agreement – “Given the delicacy and complexity of the matter, I think it is appropriate to submit the viability of the settlement solution to the council of ministers in the above terms or in the different terms that you and the Council of Ministers will deem to identify”. This is the text of the letter that the Minister of Transport Paola De Micheli sent confidentially to Giuseppe Conte on March 13th. The letter mentions Aspi’s proposal for an intervention of 2.9 billion and asks to advance the counter-proposal for an increase of up to 3.4 billion and the acceptance of the tariff profile at 1.93% with the waiver of the ongoing dispute towards Art and all the others. The counter-proposals also put forward the hypothesis of a reduction in tariffs of up to 60% on the motorway network, to compensate for the inconvenience to users in
consequence of the implementation of the extraordinary investment plan; o in case of reduction of the carriageway for extraordinary interventions, the rewriting of articles 9 and 9 bis of the Convention concerning the hypotheses of non-fulfillment. In the case of a resolution of the Convention, on the one hand, the minister underlines in her letter the employment risk for the lack of investments and on the other the need to identify extraordinary commissioners for the management of the motorway network until the identification of the new operators.
De Micheli wrote: “We risk having to fully compensate” – The State Attorney “in highlighting how it cannot be excluded that Aspi’s right to full compensation may be recognized in national or supranational courts, as a result of a possible negative resolution of the conformity of article 35 of the milleproroghe decree with respect to the regulatory parameters, he suggested that ‘any eventual intervention by this Administration must therefore take this risk into due consideration’ “. This is what we read in a letter sent by the Minister of Transport Paola De Micheli to the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on the highway dossier.
Mion (Benetton group): “Our duty is to defend companies, we hope for a fair solution” – “What happened, the collapse of the Genoa bridge, the victims and the suffering caused, what emerged after the tragedy, makes the position of the Prime Minister understandable”. This was stated in a statement by Gianni Mion, president of Edizione, the holding company of the Benetton family that controls Atlantia and consequently Autostrade per lʻItalia. “It is however our duty – he adds – to defend the two companies, Aspi and Atlantia, and their employees, financiers and shareholders. I hope that a fair solution can be found in the interest of everyone: citizens, workers, savers and investors” .
Cancelleri: “Commissioner will not lose even a job” – “The only way to start the revocation is the commissioner”. Giancarlo Cancelleri says it, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport (M5S). “It happens through the revocation of Aspi so that not even a job is lost. The company would continue to work through a government commissioner. Then the concession will be banned. Then there is the issue of security checks. We as M5s we are proposing that Anas only take over the part of security checks. ” Finally, again on the possible role of Anas: “I trust the state. The state must take its responsibilities. If Anas doesn’t go well, it means that we have to improve it. But that is a responsibility that we must take”.
