Mika Yoshitake, curator of the exhibition, explains: “For Kusama, cosmic nature is a life force that integrates the terrestrial and celestial orders of the universe from the microcosmic and macrocosmic perspectives that she studies in her practice. His explorations evoke meanings that are both personal and universal. Nature is not only a central source of inspiration, but also an integral part of the visceral effects of Kusama’s artistic language in which organic growth and proliferation of life is made present. “ The landscape of this route between art and botany will vary with the seasons, spring tulips and irises will give way to dahlias and sunflowers this summer, then to pumpkins and autumn flowers next October.
