Xiaomi Redmi K40 Series Launches, Will it Become the Next Pocophone? All pages

KOMPAS.com – Xiaomi officially launched three new mobile phones, namely Redmi K40, Redmi k40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro Plus in China. These three devices have flagship-style innards, but the price tag is lower in comparison smartphone high class.

The appearance of the Redmi K40 Series also raises the suspicion that the cellphone will become a Pocophone line when it slides in other markets at a later time.

It’s not strange, because Xiaomi is fairly diligent in changing its name (rebrand) phones they launched outside of China, with different models.

The Poco X2, which was launched in February 2020, for example, is the incarnation of the 4G version of the Redmi K30, which was launched in China several months earlier (December 2019).

Apart from that, the Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro Plus have some similarities and differences.

First is the screen, the three Redmi K40 models both carry a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

There are no bangs on the third screen of this cellphone. The front camera of the Redmi K40 Series is placed in a hole located on the middle side of the screen.

All three are also equipped with a 4,520 mAh capacity battery with support for the 33 Watt Fast Charging feature.

Regarding innards, the Redmi K40 is armed with the Snapdragon 870 chipset. Meanwhile, the Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro Plus runways rely on the Snapdragon 888 SoC. These three phones also support 5G connectivity.

Then, what are the specifications of the Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro Plus?

In terms of performance, Redmi K40 relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip, paired with four RAM (LPDDR5) and internal storage (UFS 3.1) options, namely 6 GB / 128 GB, 8 GB / 128 GB, 8 GB / 256 GB and 12 GB / 256 GB.

Redmi K40 is available in three color variants, namely Black, White and Aurora.

Redmi K40 Pro

Redmi K40 Pro comes with an AMOLED screen measuring 6.67 inches (1,080 x 2,400 pixels), supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Redmi K40 Pro is also equipped with three rear cameras consisting of a 64 MP main camera (f / 1.9), an 8 MP ultra wide camera (f / 2.2, 119 degrees), and a 5 MP (50mm) macro camera. The front camera has a resolution of 20 MP (f / 1.3.4).

Redmi K40 Pro Plus has an AMOLED display with a width of 6.67 inches (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) and supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Redmi K40 Pro Plus screen has a touch sampling rate of 360 Hz and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

On the front of the Redmi K40 Pro Plus there is a selfie camera hole with a resolution of 20 MP (f / 1.3,4).

This latest mobile phone from the Redmi series is equipped with three rear cameras consisting of a 108 MP main camera (f / 1.75), an 8 MP ultra wide camera (f / 2.2, 119 degrees), and a 5 MP (50mm) macro camera.

Redmi K40 Pro Plus runs the Android 11 operating system which is coated with the latest version of the typical Xiaomi interface (UI), MIUI 12.

This phone is armed with the latest chipset from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 888 combined with 12GB of RAM (LPFFR5) and 256GB of internal memory (UFS 3.1).

Other features brought by Redmi K40 Pro Plus include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, Color temperature sensor, IR blaster, Dolby Atmos, and USB Type-C.
