Xiaomi explores this front-to-back display concept, and it sounds quite achievable!
—
To begin, confirm that we are talking about a patent registered by Xiaomi and recently granted by the USPTO in the United States, masterfully recreated as always, following published sketches and details, by the concept creator of Let’sGoDigital that once again allow us see a render more realistic than this heir to the Mi MIX Alpha would be, with a sliding mechanism and a flexible panel that extends back through the lower frame.
This is how amazing the Xiaomi Mi Alpha R would be, Xiaomi’s first extendable mobile
It is an interesting design, suggestive in many aspects, which mix a bit to the Mi MIX 3 and the Mi MIX Alpha inheriting the flexible display that extends back, although in this case not laterally, and also mounting a mechanism that slides from bottom to top and hides the front cameras, we understand that thanks to an automatic mechanism with a small servomotor.
It seems achievable, although in a way I have the feeling that it is more effective than effective, since it seems to me a bit to duplicate functions … What if not how useful is the screen on the back if it is not above all to serve us get the best of us selfies?

It looks as well as being a very expensive device if it were built, because implementing the flexible screen and the automatic sliding mechanism at the same time cannot be cheap, also having advanced photographic systems on both the front and rear, which would obviously be the protagonists of the terminal.
It’s interesting, quite impressive as well, and I certainly see utility both to the panel on the back, for self-photos, like the fragment that bends in the lower frame, which could house a notification curtain and a clock, for example, in mode always-on-display in the purest style of the Galaxy Note Edge.

It sounds realistic, credible and achievable, even with some utility, but at this point mixing the sliding mechanisms with the flexible screens seems strange… Isn’t a presentation of the Mi Alpha R with a roll-up screen more to be expected?
There would be things to solve, such as the situation of the USB-C connector if it had it, and that is the future aims to lose all connectors and physical keypadsBeing devices like these the ones that could anticipate this future in an industry hungry for novelties.
In any case, at this point, the Xiaomi Mi Alpha R seems closer to me with a roll-up panel that looks like it will be the next big market evolution, because criticism accompanies them and their designs also seem more comfortable and integrable.
A terminal with sliding mechanism, at this point and after seeing them arrive and leave with the same speed, it seems very far indeed … Do not you think?
