Xiaomi EV surpasses 30,000 Deliveries in August, Faces Production Bottlenecks
BEIJING - Xiaomi EV achieved a significant milestone in August 2025, delivering over 30,000 electric vehicles – the SU7 and Yu7 models combined – marking a near repeat of July’s 30,452 deliveries and a ample increase from June’s 25,459 units.The surge in sales coincides with the commencement of Yu7 deliveries and an expansion of Xiaomi’s retail footprint across China.
The company bolstered its presence with the opening of 18 new sales locations in August, bringing the total too 370 stores in 105 Chinese cities. Xiaomi plans to add 32 more stores in 14 additional cities this September, aiming to further accelerate sales growth.
However, Xiaomi’s success is currently constrained by production capacity at its Beijing factory ‘Phase 1.’ an expansion, ‘Phase 2,’ is slated to launch in the coming weeks, intended to double output and help the company reach CEO Lei jun’s goal of 350,000 units produced in 2025. Currently, long wait times – extending to nearly a year – are impacting customers. future expansion with ‘Phase 3’ aims to exceed 800,000 cars produced annually by 2026.
Looking ahead, Xiaomi intends to expand into key global markets, including Europe, with Spain identified as a priority country, beginning in 2027.
