If someone had told us three or four years ago that Xiaomi would overtake Apple in phone sales, we would surely have laughed at it.
What is the reason for the jump of 163.8% in Xiaomi’s profits in 2021?
The company is growing uncontrollably
–
Back then, Xiaomi was still fighting for five percent of the global smartphone market, and today it is in second place after Samsung and holds as much as 17% of the global share, reports Canalys.
In the months since January, we have written several times about the brand’s record sales, which according to Canalys jumped by 83% compared to the second quarter of last year.

–
Sales of smartphones overall grew by 12%, and the leader continues to be Samsung.
To date, the Korean giant is responsible for 19% of all phone sales and managed to achieve a growth of 15% for the second quarter of 2021.
Interestingly, however, Xiaomi lags far behind Samsung and Apple in terms of average selling price of the devices.

–
At Xiaomi it is 40% lower than at Samsung, and when compared to Apple the difference increases to 75% due to the high prices of the iPhone.
It is quite possible that these percentages will melt for the rest of the year and beyond, as Xiaomi is increasingly relying on premium models that are not inferior to the latest Galaxy S and iPhone.

This is the best smartphone for 2021.
To win in the face of serious competition
–
The Chinese companies Oppo and Vivo are in fourth and fifth place in sales of smartphones in the world.
