When the world learned about the Xbox Series S, the cheaper console of the new generation of Microsoft, one could speak of a surprise. There were a lot of rumors about it, but mostly quite vague and without the most important – photos of the equipment itself. Meanwhile, as it turns out, the company from Redmond showed the device earlier. Only, no one paid any attention to them.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has had the Xbox Series S hidden behind his back at least three times during his appearances on YouTube, confirms Microsoft. The first time it happened on July 1, more than two months before the direct announcement.
And although the subtle hiding of unknown equipment in the public space may seem a rather strange procedure, it should be noted that this is a model behavior for the Xbox department. It is enough to recall the trailers from the E3 2017 times, when the Xbox One X and its 6 TFLOPs of computing power were the tongue of the scale. Said digit was stuffed wherever possible.

Then, however, the community figured out the mystery very quickly, and now a mystery item literally nobody noticed at Spencer. But perhaps that is what the manufacturer meant.
Note that the Xbox Series S is advertised as the smallest console in the history of the Xbox brand, and at the same time the smallest console of the new generation at all. So small that players missed it. After all, the story comes together very nicely in terms of marketing. I only wonder if there was any emergency solution in case of a possible equipment disclosure;)
