Xbox Price Hike: Series X & S Consoles Get More Expensive in US

Xbox Prices Increase⁤ Again in the US, Marking Second Hike This⁢ Year

SEATTLE, WA – ​September 26, 2024Microsoft is once again raising prices on its Xbox Series S adn Series X consoles​ in the United States, effective October 3rd.‍ This marks the second price increase for the consoles⁢ this⁤ year, and the latest‌ in a series of adjustments to Xbox‍ hardware ⁤costs since 2023.

the price of the Xbox Series X will increase to $649.99 from its current $599.99. The Xbox Series S will see a price jump to $399.99, up from $379.99. The 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition Xbox Series X will be the most ⁣affected, increasing by $70 to $799.99.Microsoft ⁢attributes ⁤the increases to⁤ “changes in ​the macroeconomic surroundings,” widely understood to be the impact ⁢of tariffs.Pricing outside of the US will remain unchanged, and controllers and headsets will⁣ maintain their current US prices.

This latest adjustment comes just six months after Microsoft​ increased prices on Xbox consoles, controllers, and headsets⁢ in May. Combined with ⁤the previous hikes, the Xbox⁢ Series X has ⁣increased in price by $150 in the US since ⁢May, while the Series S has risen by $100. the 2TB Galaxy Black⁣ Special Edition, which debuted nearly a year ago at $599.99, will now cost $799.99 – a $200 increase in one year.
