Xamax is still waiting before resuming

Contrary to what was planned and authorized, Neuchâtel Xamax FCS will not resume training on Monday 11 May.

Indeed, the “red and black” leaders decided to postpone the resumption for at least a week. Joël Magnin’s men could therefore find La Maladière on Monday, May 18.

The move follows announcements from the Swiss Football League (SFL) on Thursday. Indeed, Muri leaders have called an extraordinary general meeting on May 29. On this day, the presidents of the 20 Super and Challenge League clubs will decide what to do (or not) with the season. Thus, the SFL will be able to take a position two days after the Federal Council has pronounced on the third phase of deconfinement.

In doing so, the date of a hypothetical resumption is postponed at best to the weekend of June 20 and 21.

In addition, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs has informed the SFL that the clubs will no longer be able to claim partial unemployment once they have resumed training. A decision that is not innocent in the decision of the Xamaxians to wait a little before resuming the sessions.
