Rey mysterio says eddie Guerrero Would Be Proud of Dominik‘s WWE Evolution
WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio believes his late friend, Eddie Guerrero, would be overjoyed by the career trajectory of Dominik Mysterio. in a recently published account, Mysterio reflected on Dominik’s growth within WWE, particularly his impactful turn as a heel – a move Mysterio feels guerrero would have wholeheartedly endorsed.
Mysterio’s comments come twenty years after guerrero’s passing on November 13, 2005, following a celebrated career and a memorable feud with Mysterio himself.Despite the enduring grief over Guerrero’s loss, Mysterio finds solace in witnessing his son, Dominik, forge his own path in professional wrestling. Initially debuting in WWE around five years ago-or returning, considering the prior custody storyline-Dominik was presented as a customary ”babyface,” mirroring Mysterio’s own long-standing persona.
Mysterio recalled Dominik’s debut match at SummerSlam 2020 against Seth Rollins, noting the surprising respect Dominik earned from the audience despite his inexperience. While acknowledging Dominik’s initial struggles to fully connect with fans as “Rey Mysterio’s baby boy,” Mysterio highlighted a pivotal shift.
“Dominik wasn’t fully clicking as ‘Rey Mysterio’s baby boy’… so he did what I’m 100% sure you would’ve told him to do. He turned heel, and basically became ‘Eddie Guerrero’s demon boy.’ And that changed everything,” Mysterio wrote, imagining Guerrero’s reaction. This heel turn, embracing a more rebellious and antagonistic character, proved transformative for Dominik, allowing him to establish a unique identity and resonate with audiences in a new way.
