WWE Raw 8/17 Report – Orton hits Michaels and McIntyre with RKO

The show begins with the video that opens each WWE program cut and with technical problems.



Drew McIntyre entered the ring to start the show and talked about what Orton did to Flair. As McIntyre spoke, there were more technical difficulties. Random clips and graphics appeared on the screen. A cameraman found the production truck where Retribution was attacking the production team and demanded that he “turn it off.” The clerk pressed a button and the screen went black, leading to commercials.

The Viking Raiders, Titus O’Neil, Mustafa Ali, Cedric Alexander, Ricochet, Riddick Moss and Humberto Carrillo and Akira Tozawa were in the back talking about what just happened. McIntyre arrives and says he was tired of Retribution breaking into his house and dumping a trash can in his backyard. Seth Rollins arrives and questioned McIntyre’s leadership and they argued.

Ricochet chimed in and said Rollins was going to get a receipt for what he did to Dominik. Rollins and McIntyre argued some more until McIntyre was ready to attack him but Murphy got in the way and the other fighters stopped McIntyre.

MVP dated Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley to the ring to talk about Apollo Crews. Crews come out and and they agree that if he can beat Benjamin tonight, MVP can’t have Benjamin or Lashley in his corner at SummerSlam.

Apollo Crews defeated Shelton Benjamin (with MVP and Bobby Lashley). In the middle of the fight R-Truth ran through the ring while trying to escape from Tozawa and his ninjas.

After Apollo winning The Hurt Business he attacked Crews, but Ali, Ricochet and Alexander saved him. Truth raced on the outskirts and Benjamin knocked him down and ironed him to win the title 24/7. MVP wasn’t happy with what just happened, so he challenged to a six-man elimination bout later tonight.

Angel Garza was in the back flirting with Demi Burnett from The Bachelor. Ivar introduced himself, gave her a turkey leg, and assured her that she was not poisoned by Garza.

After the match, Angelo Dawkins appeared on screen and said he had something for Garza. Garza looked worried and ran back. Samoa Joe mentioned a video that he heard that is going to make things very interesting.

Garza ran in and shortly thereafter Vega and Andrade joined him. They all tried to grab Dawkins’ phone and show a video of Vega poisoning Montez Ford’s drink. Dawkins yelled at Vega for poisoning Ford. Ford ran in and attacked Vega’s customers until they escaped.



Natalya (with Lana) defeated Mickie James by count out of the ring after Lana’s distraction.

Rollins and Murphy went out to confront Samoa Joe. Rollins wanted to know how Joe knew Mysterio would be here tonight and he wanted to know his source.

Bayley and Banks step into the ring and they talk about SummerSlam. Baszler interrupted. She said she wanted whoever was the Raw Champion after SummerSlam. Asuka also comes out and this leads to:

Asuka and Shayna Baszler defeated Bayley and Sasha Banks in non-title fight. Nia Jax attacked Baszler from the audience by hitting a section of plexiglass on it. Pat Buck and other officials came out yelling at Jax. The fight ends when Shayna makes Bayley surrender.

Shere Michaels approached McIntyre backstage and said he needed to kick Orton in the head on Sunday. McIntyre was concerned about disappointing Michaels after everything Orton had done to Edge, Christian, Big Show, and Flair under his supervision. Michaels said that he hasn’t let anyone down and that all that adversity was created for him.

Backstage The IIconics noticed Baszler talking to Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke.

Peyton Royce (with Billie Kay) defeated Ruby Riott (with Liv Morgan) after Ruby collided with Liv outside.

Raw Underground. Erik hit an opponent with a series of knee strikes. Ziggler gave Erik a score of 4 out of 10. Erik invited him into the ring and they fought until but Ziggler punched him in the eye to win. Ivar annoyed then knocked Ziggler down outside.

Mysterio and Dominik went out to the ring together. Mysterio said he would be at Dominik’s corner to see him kick Rollins’ butt in a street fight. Rolins and Murphy appeared on the screen. Rollins couldn’t believe Mysterio was putting his son in this position.

Mysterio invited him to the ring and Rollins and Murphy come out. Mysterio and Dominik left the ring and Mysterio distracted them while Dominick grabbed two kendo sticks. Dominik attacked both of them and hit Mysterio with a stick. They both attacked Rollins and nearly tied him up with ropes, but Murphy got in the way.

MVP approached Alexander and told him he understood his frustration: sitting back when he should be in the ring.

Back in Raw Underground for Arturo Ruas vs. Riddick Moss, who won last week. Even on Raw Underground, they didn’t finish when they got into a fight outside and Shane stopped them.

Six-man knockout match: MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley defeated Apollo Crews, Ricochet and Mustafa Ali. In the middle of the fight Cedrick Alexander ironed Benjamin to win the championship 24/7. The rude win after Spear from Lashley to Crews.

Cedric Alexander derrotó a Akira Tozawa

As Alexander celebrated, Benjamin gave a Paydirt to regain the title.

Ivar and Ziggler fight in the Underground next week.



Back to the Raw Underground. Marina Shafir hit someone and makes her give up. Nia Jax dropped Shafir from behind. Baszler jumped up and Shane told them to start the fight. but Jax left.

Shawn Michaels steps into the ring and talks about everything Orton has done. Michaels promised that at SummerSlam Orton will fall with Sweet Chin Music or Claymore. Orton suddenly appears and RKOs Michaels. Then he was going to hit him but McIntyre reaches the save. Drew fights with Orton outside until he is thrown on the comment table.

Drew returns to the ring to attend to Michaels but Orton returns and RKOs McIntyre, thus ending the show.
