Commentators Vic Joseph, Beth Phoenix and Wade Barrett welcome us to a new edition of NXT that starts with the first match.
1. Match
(Non-Title) Singles Match
Dexter Lumis won against Johnny Gargano (w / The Way: Austin Theory, Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae) via Referee Stoppage im Silencer.
Match time: 13:36
NXT General Manager William Regal tells the cameraman backstage that he should send Karrion Kross to his office as soon as he arrives in the hall.
A video package hyped MSK before the winners of this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic are interviewed by McKenzie Mitchell. However, the interview is interrupted by an attack by the Grizzled Young Veterans. James Drake & Zack Gibson finish off Wes Lee & Nash Carter before they disappear again.
Malcolm Bivens is in the ring with Tyler Rust and hypes his client, who is now supposed to compete against Leon Ruff. Ruff is attacked and dispatched by Isaiah Scott at his entrance.
McKenzie Mitchell does a backstage interview with Zoey Stark, who today receives a non-title match against NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai. Stark is excited, of course, but feels ready.
Backstage, Cameron Grimes is now on “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase. So he wants to recreate the legendary basketball segment, but not with a child but with a backstage employee. But Grimes forgets to kick the ball away and instead gives the employee money.
2. Match
(Non-Title) Singles Match
Io Shirai won against Zoey Stark via pin after a moonsault.
Match time: 08:15
Toni Storm comes out after the match and claims that Shirai is hiding from her. On “NXT Takeover”, Shirai Mercedes pinned Martinez because she knew she couldn’t beat Storm. Io Shirai replies that she will face Storm anytime. Storm wants Io to claim the match from William Rule.
The Way are backstage at McKenzie Mitchell. Gargano blames Austin Theory for his loss to Dexter Lumis. Theory believes Lumis is just a misunderstood guy while Gargano would rather see him in jail. Candice LeRae wants Hartwell to see her “brother” see her senses, but Lumis thinks she is hot. Gargano has had enough and wants to send Theory into therapy.
Cameron Grimes wants to do the basketball challenge of the “Million Dollar Man” right again. He speaks to a woman who then gets up. She is taller than him, which intimidates him. He offers her $ 1,000 if she can drip the ball 10 times. The woman apparently understands something about this game and Grimes again fails to kick the ball away, so he has to give her the money too.
3. Match
Singles Match
Xia Li (w / Boa & Mei Ying) beat Kacy Catanzaro (w / Kayden Carter) via referee stoppage after Catanzaro injured his leg.
Match time: 04:41
Kayden Carter tries to confront Mei Ying after the match, but Boa gets in her way. In the ring, Xia Li gives Catanzaro a kick, whereupon Kayden Carter runs back to the ring. Xia Li lets Kayden Carter know she’s next.
William Regal is looking backstage for Santos Escobar, who is apparently not in the hall yet.
A video hypts the title match between WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler and Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez, which we will see next week.
Cameron Grimes tries the Million Dollar Man basketball challenge with another guy. This time he knocked the guy out just in time. But Grimes leaves him the money anyway.
The Grizzled Young Veterans speak before their match. They say they did NXT a favor by turning off MSK.
4. Match
Tag Team Match
The Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) vs. Drake Maverick & Killian Dain via Pin an Drake Maverick durch James Drake nach dem Ticket to Mayhem.
Match time: 04:50
Killian Dain carries Drake Maverick to the backstage area. There he is approached by Alexander Wolfe. The German wonders what happened to the “monster” Killian Dain.
Karrion Kross attacks Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza backstage when Santos Escobar arrives in the hall. Escobar attacks Kross, but Kross quickly wins the upper hand.
5. Match
(Non-Title) Street Fight
Karrion Kross (w / Scarlett) won against Santos Escobar (w / Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde) via pin after a forearm.
Matchzeit: ca. 15:00
– Before the finish, Karrion Kross had pushed the NXT Cruiserweight Champion through the commentary table with a Doomsday Saito Suplex.
We’re seeing a promo from LA Knight. Everyone is asking him when he will make his NXT debut. The answer to this is that it will do so at a time and on his terms. Maybe next week, or maybe three months from now. According to him, this doesn’t make a difference because he will defeat all our favorites.
Adam Cole comes out to comment on his attack on Kyle O’Reilly. He admits he hated himself for the past few weeks. He was pissed off that O’Reilly couldn’t win the NXT Championship, but this is not an excuse and doesn’t explain his actions. He’s ashamed of what he’s done. He wished he could speak to Kyle O’Reilly in person, but Kyle O’Reilly is at home in front of the TV. Kyle knows him well and he knows that Cole doesn’t like to admit a mistake. He admits he made a terrible mistake and for that he hates himself.
Roderick Strong interrupts the promo and questions Cole’s statements. Cole hasn’t called in the last few days to explain or apologize. The Undisputed Era was built on trust and on the support of all members. Cole destroyed this trust. Strong doesn’t know if he can protect Cole from O’Reilly when he is fit again.
The music of Finn Balor is playing and the NXT Champion is coming out too. Strong wants to talk to him, but Balor pushes him aside and attacks Adam Cole. Strong intervenes after a short time, whereupon Balor hits him too. Ultimately, Adam Cole knocks out the NXT Champion with a super kick. Afterwards, Cole seems to want to apologize to Strong, but Strong hits him. Cole begs him because he wants things to be the same as before. Strong gives in and they both get very emotional. They hug until Cole suddenly low blows Roddy. Cole says that Strong is just being stupid and then gives him a super kick. The show comes to an end with Adam Cole, who stands above Roderick Strong.
