As noted, Tessa Blanchard was stripped of the Impact World Championship and was fired from the company in recent days.
Reports indicated that Tessa was supposed to send promos from her home in Mexico for an Impact episode in June, but never sent them. The fighter has not fought for Impact since the COVID-19 outbreak began.
Since news of her release was reported, WWE has reportedly “sent messages” to contact Tessa about the possibility of working together, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Blanchard has worked with WWE in the past as part of the NXT brand and as a competitor in the first ever Mae Young Classic Tournament.
However, earlier this year, Dave Meltzer stated that WWE did not sign Tessa in a development deal in the past due to “attitude issues.”
Although AEW has not been mentioned in the big picture, it will be interesting to see if the company expresses any interest in the fighter as her father, Tully Blanchard, works with them as Shawn Spears’ manager.
