founded in 1990 by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ahnert, ADA – Acoustic Design Ahnert quickly established itself as a leader in electroacoustics, acoustic simulation, and AV system design. WSDG acquired a majority stake in the berlin-based firm in 2017, playing a pivotal role in its subsequent development.The name change formalizes the ongoing collaboration and alignment with the international WSDG institution, while honoring the engineering excellence and core values cultivated over three decades.

The primary updates involve company branding and email addresses.Clients and partners can anticipate the same high standards of technical expertise and project delivery, now under the WSDG Berlin banner.

The Legacy of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ahnert

Prof. Dr. Ahnert’s influence is deeply ingrained in the company’s DNA. As a former professor, author, and software innovator, he spearheaded the development of EASE (Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers), a tool used in over 150 countries. His expertise has been instrumental in major international projects,including:

• The Deutsche Oper Berlin
• the Turkish Parliament in Ankara
• The ongoing development of Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai

He also co-founded AFMG Technologies GmbH,which develops and distributes acoustic measurement and simulation software,including EASE.
