Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The Android operating system usually allows Android phones to install updates in the background and installs them automatically or is called ‘Seamless Update’.

The benefit of this feature is that it provides an extra layer of security for the user as the updates are installed on a separate disk. Apart from that, users can still use their cellphones while the update is being processed.

However, in the latest Galaxy S23 series, Samsung has again missed out on support for Android updates that are seamless. Moreover, it was revealed that Samsung may finally be bringing Unlimited Updates to Galaxy phones with One UI 6.0, which will be released this year.

Some people from 9To5Google checked their Galaxy S23 Ultra device and found that the Inware and Treble Info apps that check system data to report information and Unlimited Updates are not available.

Samsung itself has been doing away with Android Seamless Updates for years, and flagship the previous generation, the Galaxy S22 series, didn’t support it either.

Quoted from SammobileTuesday (7/2/2023), Samsung missed this important Android feature due to concerns about the Android Seamless Updates feature taking up storage space.

But this shouldn’t be a big deal as Samsung can easily improve baseline to 256GB on flagship devices. It can also reduce the size of Samsung apps as they take up up to 60GB of space on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is significantly more than last year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra.
