WoW Legion: Remix Players Face Infinite Power Reset Following Exploitative Gains
Irvine, california – May 16, 2024 – Blizzard Entertainment has adjusted the World of Warcraft Legion: Remix event to address an imbalance in the acquisition of “Infinite Power,” a temporary buff granting increased character power. the adjustments include reduced gains from elite farming, herb gathering, and mining, as well as a reset for players who accumulated excessive amounts of the buff.
According to a post on the official Legion Remix forums, the issue stemmed from an oversight in the loot table setup, causing these activities to yield “far more Infinite Power than intended.” This allowed a subset of players to accumulate power “well beyond our intended thresholds.”
Community manager Linxy stated, “Elite farming, mining, and herb gathering are valid gameplay choices, however, we’ve made the following adjustments to restore balance to the system and ensure a healthy game economy moving forward.”
players exceeding the intended power levels have had their Infinite Power reduced to a maximum of 10 million, though Blizzard acknowledges this remains a substantial amount.
This situation echoes similar issues encountered during the Mists of Pandaria Remix event, were players exploited grinding methods to gain an advantage. The current Remix event is designed to be a lighthearted experience, and Blizzard appears to be prioritizing fun over allowing players to endlessly optimize power gains.
