Wout Weghorst has reacted to the shitstorm of the past few days and for his sports studio appearance in ZDF explained.

Background of the story: Weghorst shared the post of a vaccination opponent in December who doubts the danger posed by the coronavirus.
The Instagram post read: “Imagine there is a vaccine that is so safe that you have to be threatened to take it for a disease so deadly you have to be tested to know you have it. “
Weghorst later deleted the post, but it continued to be a topic of conversation. So also in ZDF-Sports studio, where the Dutchman appeared only a week ago, but did not distance himself from the said contribution.

The result: a shit storm on social media. Weghorst even had to go to the sports director of VfL Wolfsburg, Jörg Schmadtke. The topic should now be off the table.

For Weghorst himself, however, the public statement was once again important: “Immediately after the broadcast on Saturday evening, I had the feeling: Did I have the right words, did I say the right thing?”, The striker justified himself Ed. “Then I saw everything over the next few days, on the Internet and on Instagram and a lot was said about it in Holland too.
