Massacre in Florida: three friends murdered on fishing trip

A fishing trip for three – that was the idea. But it never got that far. Before Damion Tillman (23), Keven Springfield (30) and Brandon Rollins (27) were able to throw the first rod into the water, they were brutally beaten and shot. In the video, the friend of the late Brandon Rollins talks about her great love.

Jessica Steenson: “I miss Brandon so much!”

As soon as she saw her friend Brandon calling her father’s cell phone, Jessica Steenson knew something was wrong. “He never calls his father otherwise,” she reveals in an interview with RTL. “Only when something bad happens.”

And that’s it: A few minutes after the call, Brandon Rollins died, he was shot with nine bullets. He spoke his last words to his father, his mother and girlfriend were late. “It was so hard. I tried to save his life, but any help was too late,” says Steenson. Despite her infinite grief, the young woman appears strong and composed.

Jessica and Brandon met on Facebook, after a few messages they met and fell in love. For him, Steenson even moved to the village of Frostproof, which has a population of around 3,300, two and a half years ago.

And even though her great love is no longer there, she wants to stay in Frostproof. For now. “I want to be with his family and remember the days we had together,” Steenson told our RTL reporter. Every Saturday and Sunday they went out with the boat and fished together. “I would like five more minutes to do exactly that with him again.”

“Why do you kill three innocent people because of a truck?”

When she heard why William “Robert” Wiggins, Mary Whittemore and Tony “TJ” Wiggins killed her boyfriend and his two best friends, she was shocked and sad. “With everything you can argue about in this world: it was about a truck. Why do you kill three innocent people because of a truck?” Asks Jessica Steenson.

Police said the men at the lake were arguing about the Wiggins truck. Wiggins claimed that one of the victims, Keven Springfield, stole him and then sold the engine. Investigators do not yet know whether this is true.

Wiggins is said to have shot the three men in an argument, after which the trio are said to have quickly left the dust – without blurring their tracks. Shortly thereafter, they went to a nearby McDonalds store. Here they ordered ten double cheeseburgers and two chicken sandwiches.

The supposedly murderous trio has been in custody since Wednesday. On Thursday, they were brought before a judge for the first time.
