JAKARTA – Looking at our busy daily schedule, most of us have a habit of having lunch in the afternoon. Worst of all, you don’t realize how dangerous this practice is to your health as you try to lose weight.

According to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, lunch after 3 p.m. can have a big impact on the speed at which the process of decline body weight. The study specifically looked at the action of the perilipine protein, which is found in human cells and is important for burning fat throughout the body.

At the end of the study, it was found that people with a certain genetic variation of this protein lost less weight when they ate after 3 p.m.

Another study published in 2013 in the International Journal of Obesity also states that lunch after 3 p.m. can slow down the weight loss process. However, both studies focused on people with a specific genetic makeup.

Feeding times and circadian rhythms
