It started back in October last year – and while the number of infected continues to increase. The epidemic has come to Europe. For example, in France, 26 cases of flu deaths were reported from November 2019 to February 2020, the epidemic spread throughout the mainland. “Since November 4, 2019, 311 severe cases of the flu were recorded, with 49 of them in the fifth week of the year. The epidemic has not fully reached Moscow yet, but in a number of regions of the country many schools are quarantined. According to Rospotrebnadzor in the capital, so far the structure of respiratory morbidity in Moscow is dominated by “non-influenza etiology viruses,” and among all the influenza viruses that occur, influenza B prevails. The number of cases in the city increased by 14.3% compared to the previous week. .
Users of social networks report the closure of certain classes in the capital for quarantine, however, schools have not yet left for such forced “vacations” in the city. As one metropolitan infectious disease specialist told MK, more and more patients with flu symptoms are coming to his hospital, and it is most often the American variants of the strains – H1N1 and B. that are true. True, there have not been a single death in the hospital. Meanwhile, users of social networks complain that they “did not guess” with vaccinations. “For once I decided to get vaccinated – and now I got sick! It means that the strains that are inoculated are now in use, ”says Muscovite Lyubov.
“In fact, the flu vaccine only protects against the flu, and there’s nothing more,” says the head of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the First Moscow State Medical University. The last measure is very simple and very effective – it allows you to mechanically wash off the virus that enters the body and does not allow it to take root. On and infected people should not be shy to wear masks in public transport – this prevents the spread of the virus.
