The end of the 110m hurdles final was marked by the fall of defending champion Omar McLeod. The Jamaican had also hampered Orlando Ortega, in the fight for a place on the podium. Spain appealed and the jury ruled in favor, awarding the hurdler a bronze medal corresponding to his position in the race at the time of the incident. Ortega will therefore be on the podium alongside Frenchman Pascal Martinot-Lagarde. McLeod had been disqualified.
