World Rabies Day, Get to Know the Benefits of Rabies Vaccination for Your Pet Dog

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – World Rabies Day is a global campaign held on September 28 every year. This warning is carried out to increase public awareness of rabies prevention.

In its implementation this year, SmartHeart Indonesia in collaboration with the Department of Food Security, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture of the City of West Jakarta invites the public to participate in preventing rabies. This is done through the provision of free rabies vaccination for dogs.

“Rabies is one of the world’s strategic diseases that are zoonotic, aka transmitted from animals to humans with a high mortality rate. Effective control of rabies is carried out through rabies vaccination,” explained drh. Aulia Jasmine as a veterinarian of PT Perfect Companion Indonesia in a virtual press conference, Monday, 27 September 2021.

According to Aulia, most parts of Indonesia are not yet free of rabies. One of the provinces that has a status of zero cases of rabies is DKI Jakarta.

To maintain Jakarta’s rabies-free status, vaccination activities were held which took place on September 25 and September 28, 2021. The first day was held regularly on the spot at Smart Park, Central Park, West Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the next event which coincided with World Rabies Day, Tuesday (28/9/2021), was held separately drive thru at the Laguna Central Park Lobby, West Jakarta. Every day 100 doses of vaccine are prepared for pet dogs.

Gaby Fellycia as Brand Manager of PT Perfect Companion Indonesia said, SmartHeart Indonesia as the organizer ensures that every series of events adheres to health protocols. In addition to free vaccinations, his party also held an Eating Contest. Vaccinated pet dogs are entered in an eating competition using SmartHeart products.
