The Music section team offers you a selection of classical music, jazz, rock and so-called world music festivals.
Métis Plaine Commune Festival, in Seine-Saint-Denis, from July 3 to 17
A beautiful eclecticism in the proposals, all free and in the open air, some of which are intended for young audiences. Among other things, an Occitan ball with the La Talvera ensemble (July 5, Parc Carnot de Villetaneuse), then a cross between Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and hip-hop (Concert by La Loge/Julien Chauvin and the dancers of Mourad Merzouki’s Compagnie Käfig (July 7 at Point Fort, Aubervilliers). Next will come the Catalan female quintet Maruja Limón, bringing together flamenco and Latin rhythms. Americans (a strong impression at the last Transmusicales in Rennes), followed by a carte blanche to the Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, on July 9 at the Docks de Saint-Ouen.The next day, at the same place, the Franco-Syrian flautist and singer Naïssam Jalal in quintet, with the Divertimento Symphony Orchestra, followed by a carte blanche for Sofiane Saïdi, one of the most outstanding voices in raï today, with the Mazalda group and the powerful electric oud player Mehdi Haddab.
On July 17, the solar Franco-Greek singer Dafné Kritharas will sing while moving on the Canal de l’Ourcq. Also on the program are hip-hop, beatbox, world cuisine, musical siestas and storytelling. Patrick Labesse

Jazz à Couches Festival, from July 6 to 9
The Jazz à Couches festival, which began in 1986, is presented by its president Stéphane Desvignes, who is also a trumpeter, in The Journal of Saône-et-Loire from June 23: “We are a festival of friends who want to remain so. » And in this band, we find the vibraphonist Franck Tortiller, who participates in the programming and leads, in addition to his own formations, the Big Band of Couches, initially made up rather of amateurs, which will open the festival on July 6 after the Blue Quartet. Then the festival will receive in particular the Atlas Quartet, the bass player Richard Bona with the pianist Alfredo Rodriguez, guitarist Biréli Lagrène who will be on bass with the Multiquarium for a tribute to Jaco Pastorius, Tortiller with his orchestra for his program dedicated to Led Zeppelin, the Brass Dance Orchestra, and guitarists and singers Will Barber and Neal Black who will lead Jazz à Couches towards the blues.
