Launch the official page WHO, July 28 was chosen because it is the birthday of Baruch Blumberg, the discoverer of the hepatitis B virus or HBV. Blumberg is the man who developed the diagnostic test and vaccine for the virus he tested.

At its peak, the man born in New York, July 28, 1925, received the Nobel Prize for his discovery. Blumberg dedicates his time to researching all things hepatitis. He’s even been a tremendous resource for the Hepatitis B Foundation.
Hepatitis is a virus that has the largest disease burden in the world, when compared to other infectious diseases. The global target set by the World Health Organization (WHO), the fight against hepatitis and its elimination process will be implemented in 2030. In that year, it is also targeted that the epidemics of tuberculosis, malaria, and AIDS can end.
