Work spaces designed for students at the Grande Bibliothèque

Students from elementary school to university will be able to access safe workspaces at the Grande Bibliothèque starting January 12.

“They will be able to have access to the Internet network and enjoy a quiet place to study and do individual work,” said Library and National Archives of Quebec (BAnQ) in a statement.

Space will however be limited and access to the shelves will remain prohibited.

“To use or borrow a document, it is absolutely necessary to have it put aside beforehand,” he said.

Students must present a student card or any other document certifying their student status and wearing a face cover will be compulsory at all times.

With the implementation of the curfew, the Grande Bibliothèque will be open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. as well as Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For other citizens, the document storage and collection service remains in place.
