Record-Breaking Audience Tunes In for WomenS Rugby World Cup Final
LONDON – A peak audience of 5.8 million viewers across TV and streaming platforms watched england’s Red Roses defeat Canada 33-13 in teh Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 final, marking the most-watched women’s rugby union match ever on UK television and the most-watched rugby match of the year.
The tournament as a whole reached a total TV audience of 12 million, with an additional 10.5 million streams recorded on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport digital platforms. Live reporting pages on BBC Sport garnered 18.3 million views throughout the competition.
The final, held at Twickenham Stadium, was attended by 81,885 fans. Highlights included a breakthrough try for Canada and a flawless kicking performance from Zoe Harrison, alongside five tries scored by England.
