Scientists have found the first biological evidence that bedroom activity often increases lifespan by protecting DNA.

However, the quality of a woman’s relationships has little impact on aging. US researchers asked 129 women between the ages of 20 and 50 about their love lives. The women then had blood tests to determine their long-term health prospects.
The study focuses on telomere or protective caps on the DNA endings that predict a person’s biological age. Considered to be tiny internal clocks, they shorten over time and eventually become so small that cells die.
Experts found that women who have sex regularly have telomeres that are much longer, increasing their overall life expectancy. Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco, said that this is an important finding.

“This provides new evidence that sexual intimacy in a long-term relationship has health-enhancing benefits,” the researchers said The Sun, Tuesday (16/3).
