Woman in Malaysia Canceled Suicide After Seeing Crocodiles in the River

KUALA LUMPUR, KOMPAS.com – One woman of Malaysia reportedly canceled doing suicide after seeing there crocodile swimming in the river.

Local media Cosmo! reported that initially the woman who worked at Tenaga Nasional Berhad jumped off the bridge on Monday last week (23/11/2020).

Fortunately, he immediately swam to the shore and was rescued by the locals, as reported by The Rakyat Post Friday (27/11/2020).

Witnesses said that the 34-year-old woman decided to commit suicide after seeing a crocodile swimming nearby.

Reported Utusan Malaysia, the police received a report about the attempt before 19.00 local time, and found him drenched by the side of the road.

The Malaysian Police said that the unidentified woman intended to end her life because she was experiencing depression.

The Klang River in Selangor, where the woman wanted to commit suicide, became a habitat saltwater crocodile, which is called the largest reptile in the world.

The Selangor National Parks and Wildlife Department (DWNP) said they were always monitoring the surrounding waters to see the movement of the predator.

Even though the place is one of the tourist sites, DWNP appealed to the public to be careful, especially when the rainy season has arrived.

Director of DWNP Selangor Haidar Khan Mokbolhassan via Malay Mail said they would set a trap if the crocodile hurt humans.

“However, if there are only reports that see it, it is natural because the river is their natural habitat,” explained Haidar.

As is known, adult saltwater crocodiles can reach a length of up to six meters and weigh up to more than one ton.
