NEW YORK – A motorist was killed in a serious rear-end collision on the Cross Bronx Expressway early Tuesday morning, New York City police said.
The accident happened around 12:35 when the woman allegedly collided with a truck after the ramp Major Deegan Expressway yes Avenue Amsterdam. It was at that moment that another truck, traveling in the same lane, rear-ended the victim’s car and the car became wedged between the two trucks.
The impact of the three vehicles caused flames and the woman died instantly.
The truck drivers were not injured, according to police.
As a result of the accident, the highway remained busy for several hours due to the detour of trucks and other cars.
