The program is called “Boomerang” and consists of rewarding the oldest employees (over five years of experience) home) with eight weeks paid without working, plus three extra days of vacation per year (with the possibility of adding another three), benefits in the areas of health, education / training and retirement savings plans and two days without working as long as they volunteer (a choice of type of volunteering is free).

Farfetch: José Neves’ company entered the stock exchange in New York

In interview to publication Cash Money, Ana Sousa, from the company’s Human Resources, explains that this is a way of retaining the talent that is concentrated within the ranks of the first Portuguese unicorn (startup that has a market value assessment of more than one billion dollars).

Founded in June 2007, from Guimarães, by businessman José Neves, the company has its fiscal headquarters in London and main branches in Braga, Guimarães, Matosinhos, Lisbon, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Shanghai and São Paulo.

The luxury digital commerce platform brings together more than 3,200 brands to more than 935,000 users, presenting solutions for ‘online’ presentation and product shipping. In Leça do Balio alone, over a thousand of the approximately 4 thousand current Farfetch employees work.
