Woman and child killed in road accident in Lviv region

Both drivers are in serious condition in the hospital

A local resident, having driven into the oncoming lane, crashed with another car. Three people are in serious condition in the hospital, two were killed.

On the Kiev-Chop highway near the village of Dubina, Stryi district in the Lviv region, as a result of a car collision, two people were killed, three were hospitalized in serious condition. About it informs press service of the regional police.

The accident happened at about 13:00 on Tuesday, July 20.

“As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Opel Astra, a 24-year-old resident of the area, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a Mazda car,” the police said in a statement.

A Mazda passenger died at the scene of the accident. A seven-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were hospitalized with injuries. The boy died in the hospital.

Both drivers are also in serious condition in a medical facility.

The circumstances of the incident are established. The issue of opening criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 286 (violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons operating vehicles, resulting in the death of several persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The person guilty of a fatal accident faces imprisonment for a term of five to 10 years with a deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
