Wolves vs Tottenham: The Lilywhites beat 0-1

Tottenham Hotspur had a bad run at headquarters Wolverhampton Wanderers in continuation Premier League. The Lilywhites came home with a 0-1 loss.

Wolves vs Tottenham took place at the Molineux Stadium, Saturday (4/3/2023) evening WIB. The two teams played out a goalless draw in the first half after few chances.

Tottenham in the end had to go home disappointed. The club from North London lost after being broken into by Adama Traore in the 82nd minute.

Despite the defeat, Tottenham are still in fourth place in the Premier League standings with 45 points. Wolves continue to stay clear of the relegation zone as they are in 13th place after collecting 27 points,

Course of the Match

The Spurs were able to release three attempts in the first five minutes, but only one was aimed at the goal through Son Heung-Min’s kick.

Dejan Kulusevski threatened the Wolves goal in the 18th minute. The Tottenham winger curled a shot at the far post, but Jose Sa was still able to keep the ball away.

The referee stopped the match in the 24th minute. This is because Diego Costa lay down after his aerial duel with Oliver Skipp. The Woles striker was unable to continue after undergoing treatment on the pitch and Raul Jumenez appeared as a substitute.

Until the game lasted half an hour, Wolves did not let go of the experiment even though they could create dangerous attacks. On the other hand, Tottenham are still too late to penetrate the Wolves penalty box.

Wolves attack increased towards the end of the first half. However, no one ever produced a shot.

Tottenham almost broke into Wolves’ goal in injury time through Pedro Porro’s free kick that hit the crossbar. 0-0 score lasted until halftime.

The Spurs were able to pressure Wolves in the first five minutes of the second half, but again the Lilywhites attack came to nothing.

Wolves even almost tore Tottenham’s goal in the 55th minute. Raul Jimenez met the cross with a header, but Fraser Forster managed to keep the ball away with one hand.

Three minutes later, it was Tottenham who almost opened the scoring. The ball from a corner can be met by Clément Lenglet with a header, but Jose Sa is still able to secure the net.

Ruben Neves fired a speculative shot from outside the penalty box. The ball that rushed towards the goal was pushed over by Forster.

Wolves managed to lead 1-0 in the 82nd minute through Adama Traore. He scored a goal after grabbing the ball rebounded by Raul Jimenez.

Raul Jimenez tore Tottenham’s goal in the 88th minute. The goal was later disallowed for offside.

There were no other goals until the game was over. Tottenham also had to be willing to go home with a 0-1 defeat.
