Withdrawal of AFP funds: Allamand affirms that the senators of Chile Vamos will not go to the TC and calls on the government to collaborate so that it is implemented in the “most expeditious” way

He Senator for National Renewal (RN), Andrés Allamand, He stated that the senators of Chile Vamos will not go to the Constitutional Court (TC) for the constitutional reform project that allows the withdrawal of 10% of the funds from the AFP accounts.

The parliamentary motion this day was dispatched from Congress after being approved by more than 2/3 of the members of the Chamber of Deputies. So it was ready to become law.

Exactly one of the doubts about the future of the initiative was if the ruling senators would go to the TC, as the UDI helmsman Jacqueline van Rysselberghe had warned yesterday.

“The senators of Chile Vamos, we have resolved not to attend the Constitutional Court. We assume that the reform project has been approved by a large majority in both Houses, “said Allamand.

Basing its decision on that “Our concern was precisely to establish that these reform projects must be approved by the highest quorum established by the Constitution.”

Finally, he called on the government to collaborate so that the implementation of the initiative is expeditious.

“Certainly it is appropriate to make a self-criticism, in terms of not having been able to explain what the negative effects are, particularly on the issue of pensions, which this project will have, but we assume that it will ultimately be law and we call on the government to collaborate, through regulations, in the most expeditious implementation of the reform that has been approved ”he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Chamber of Deputies He has already sent the bill of law of the project to President Sebastián Piñera, for which the 30-day term that the President has to take effect to see what he does with the initiative begins: if he enacts it, he vetoes it or sends it to the TC.
