With parades and pyrotechnics they will celebrate the 4th of July

Step.- With parades in El Paso and Las Cruces, as well as fireworks throughout the County: this is how El Pasoans will celebrate the 4th of July holiday this year.

From Ascarate Park to Fort Bliss and Socorro, there will be multiple fireworks displays throughout El Paso this holiday weekend.

At Ascarate Park the fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Monday. However, the gates to enter Ascarate Park will close to incoming traffic at 8:00 p.m. Food trucks will set up in the park beginning at 3 p.m.

Fort Bliss will have its annual Pop Goes the Fort celebration with a fireworks show as soon as it gets dark.

Western Playland and Abundant Living Faith Center Church’s two campuses – in the Lower Valley and West Side – will also have fireworks displays Monday night.

The city of Socorro will have its fireworks show on Saturday. The El Paso Chihuahuas will have fireworks shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday after each game beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Ready to parade

The Rotary Club of West El Paso will host the 24th annual Fourth of July Parade at 9:00 am on Monday, July 4, beginning at the Western Hills Methodist Church, located at 530 Thunderbird Drive. The parade will turn left onto Thunderbird Drive, left onto Shadow Mountain Drive, and right onto Mesa Street. It will end at Coronado High School.

The El Paso Del Norte Lions Club will hold its 45th Annual Parade of Lions on July 4 at 9:00 am also Monday, beginning at Hanks High School on the corner of Montwood and Lee Trevino streets.

The theme is “patriotic spirit and American dreams” for the City of Las Cruces’ July 4, 2022 Electric Light Parade. The Electric Light Parade begins at 9:00 pm, Sunday, July 3, at Parque Apodaca, Av. Madrid 801 E. in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Governments and banks close

All federal, state, county and city offices will be closed Monday in observance of the 4th of July holiday. All local school districts, as well as the University of Texas at El Paso, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso, and El Paso Community College will also be closed.

Banks and other financial institutions will not operate on Monday, so the community is asked to do their paperwork no later than this Saturday.
