With music from Neufahrn – Aufimmenfang – Freising

When Franziska Maier was sent out as a parish officer two and a half years ago, she got her own song: The band “The Circle’s End” of the parish of St. Franziskus, in which she had long been a singer at the side of her sister Manuela, wrote the song “Augen of the heart “. Now the young people have also submitted it to the “Vocation Music Award” competition, which deals with the subject of “Calling – About God’s Call to You”.

The Neufahrner Song refers to a reading from the New Testament: “It illuminates the eyes of your heart so that you understand the hope to which you are called”, read the corresponding lines in the letter to the Ephesians. The competition is advertised by the Center for Vocational Pastoral Care of the German Bishops ‘Conference (ZfB) together with the German Capuchin Province, the Office for Youth Pastoral Care of the German Bishops’ Conference and the Samuel Youth Church.

“The Circle’s End” has been around for 14 years now. The band became known nationwide not least for their appearances at the youth basketball pilgrimage and at the diocesan opening of the carol singing campaign 2017 in the Freising Cathedral. Manuela Maier (vocals), Norma Dümig (keyboard, vocals), Alessia Tiso (guitar, vocals) and Stefan Ausfelder (drums) regularly accompany youth services, baptisms and weddings in their home parish. “When we are not in the rehearsal room, which we are unfortunately not allowed to do at the moment, we sit in the office, talk to patients, operate machines or listen to lecturers,” says Manuela Maier. The solidarity extends beyond the common hobby: “Although we couldn’t be more different, we are not only connected by music, but also by a long-term friendship.”

Whoever wants to vote for the song can go to the site www.vocation-music-award.com/deutschland/contest/ vote for the Neufahrner contribution until June 30th.
