Musician Jānis Aišpurs said in an interview with the Latvian Television program “Morning Panorama” that he fell ill with Covid-19 during the recording of his group “The Sound Poets”.
According to him, when meeting friends, it is very difficult to follow the limitations of Covid-19 – they are forgotten. Until his illness, the musician was careful – he used a mask, washed his hands, observed the distance and did not go to public places unnecessarily.
“But I did not get sick in a public place, but in a relatively safe environment – in a studio where there are only my own. But one of my own was asymptomatic,” Aispurs said.
He said he was surprised by the public’s response to people who share Covid-19. In his opinion, people in times of difficulty should not be divided, but united.
CONTEXT:
During the Covid-19 outbreak in the spring, an emergency situation was declared in Latvia to control the new coronavirus. The situation was stable in the summer, but the morbidity at the end of September fast increased. The government has reintroduced the state of emergency that existed stricter restrictions. Despite this, the incidence of Covid-19 did not stop increasing.
Government on December 1 decided to extend emergency by 11 January. Restrictions are as strict as in spring – the “2 + 2” principle must be followed. This means that only two people from different households can meet, within a distance of two meters.
