A Brazilian Team started to meet on Sunday night for the next two games of the World Cup Qualifiers, against Ecuador, Thursday, and Paraguay, next Tuesday (1st).

The presentation took place directly in the city of Quito, to facilitate logistics and optimize preparation time. The first team to arrive in the Ecuadorian capital was midfielder Éverton Ribeiro and striker Gabigol, both from Flamengo, in addition to coach Tite and members of the national team’s technical commission.

The other athletes, all who work in Europe, travel on a flight chartered by CBF this Monday. The only exception is goalkeeper Weverton, from Palmeiras, who played this Sunday and also travels this Monday, on a career flight.

The canarinho coaching staff suffered four absences on account of Covid-19 for the duel in Ecuador. Physical trainer Fábio Mahseredjian, performance analyst Raony Thadeu, assistant César Sampaio and coordinator Juninho Paulista were diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Because of the casualties, the CBF turned to professionals who were champions with the Olympic team in Tokyo. Coach André Jardine was invited to be Tite’s assistant. In addition to him, analyst Dudu Bressane and physical trainer Marcos Seixas were summoned.

The Brazilian team will have little time to prepare to face Ecuador. Coach Tite will command just two practices before the match, on Thursday and Friday.

For the duel in Quito, Tite will not be able to count on midfielder Fabinho and midfielder Lucas Paquetá, both suspended. It is worth remembering that Neymar, injured, was not called up.

Already guaranteed the World Cup in Qatar, Brazil is undefeated in the Qualifiers and leads the competition with 35 points.

The match against Ecuador takes place at 18:00 (Brasília time) on Thursday, at the Casa Blanca stadium. The match against Paraguay will be at 21:30 on Tuesday, at Mineirão.
