PUERTO RICO.- “Fiel”, a song by Puerto Ricans Wisin and Jhay Cortez, reached number 9 globally on the music streaming platform Spotify, an unprecedented worldwide success that the first of the artists attributed to the work used to bring the song forward .

“I don’t even believe it,” Wisin told Efe on Monday about this work from the “Los Legendarios” album, which includes 19 songs featuring the participation of such important artists of the urban genre as Sech, Nicki Jam, Reik, Ozuna and Rauw Alejandro, among others.

“Los Legendarios” is a joint work by Wisin with the producers Los Legendarios, who form the Puerto Rican duo made up of Marcos Ramírez and Víctor Torres.

The duo has joined La Base Music Group, Wisin’s new record company that from the Puerto Rican municipality of Cayey wants to become a reference in music production throughout the Caribbean region.

“The public always surprises us,” Wisin said about “Fiel”, which has managed to be number 1 in fourteen countries on Spotify and also ranked first in fourteen countries on Apple Music, the subscription music platform for streaming. from Apple.

“Fiel” also garnered 200 million views on the TikTok video platform.

“Urban music is universal and lends itself to fusion”, Wisin pointed out about the style of “Fiel” and the good reception it has had in so many countries.

“The song is a universal project,” Wisin said, after ensuring that anyone who sees the video for the song will immediately detect that it fit with Jhay Cortez clearly.

“The issue was taken care of a lot and the result is there,” said the singer and producer.

He said that he feels especially happy to have succeeded in a country like Spain, where such an important success of one of his songs was not known until now.

The production of this album was carried out by Puerto Ricans Marcos Ramírez and Víctor Torres during the pandemic, from the La Base Music recording studio in Cayey, the municipality where Wisin was born and raised.

The new album includes collaborations with stars of the urban genre including Wisin, Ozuna, Nicky Jam, Jhay Cortez, Sech, Lunay, Rauw Alejandro, Zion, Mike Towers and Miky Woodz.
