Wirtualna Polska – Everything important

The chairman of the National Media Council, Krzysztof Czabański, did not reveal the candidates for the president of TVP to members of the RMN. The deadline for submitting candidatures was Thursday noon, the new president of TVP will be elected on Friday. RMN member Juliusz Braun revealed to Wirtualna Polska that Jacek Kurski’s competitor in the fight for the presidency of public television will be the film producer and journalist Maciej Pawlicki. This is a surprising candidacy.

According to our information, it is actually a foregone conclusion that Jacek Kurski will again be the president of Telewizja Polska. The industry portal Wirtualnemedia.pl also writes about it. The National Media Council will formally make the selection on Friday (August 7).

In RMN, the majority are members recommended by the ruling party. And Jacek Kurski has the full support of PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński – we hear from politicians in the power camp. That is why Kurski will again – formally – take over the reins of the head of public television again. – Everything points to it – tells us one of his associates, emphasizing that Kurski’s candidacy was proposed by Krzysztof Czabański himself .

And this means that Jacek Kurski will take over the position of TVP president the day after Andrzej Duda is sworn in as president.

There will be no competition

Candidates for the president of TVP could be submitted on Thursday (August 6) by noon. It is unofficially known that no one who would like to apply for the presidency has applied until Tuesday. Finally it was revealed that Maciej Pawlicki, a film producer (including the film “Smoleńsk”) and a journalist of, among others, wPolityce.pl and the weekly “Sieci” . As the Wirtualnemedia.pl portal reminds, in the fall of 2015 Pawlicki ran unsuccessfully in the sub-Warsaw district from the PiS list to the Sejm. From spring 2016 to January 2017 he co-hosted “Studio Polska” on TVP Info.
