Winter transfers: OHL sells Raemaekers to KVM, Verschueren van Lommel to Sparta | Jupiler Pro League

Seraing has strengthened with experienced defenders Daniel Opare and Molla Wagué. Opare signed a contract for one and a half years, Wagué until the end of this season.

The 31-year-old Opare has been without a club since his contract with Zulte Waregem expired in the summer of 2021. He trained with Seraing in December and was able to secure a contract there. Opare broke through in Belgium at Standard. The Rouches snatched the Ghanaian full-back in 2010 from the youth of Real Madrid. Afterwards, Opare stayed with Porto (2014), Besiktas (2015), Augsburg (2015-2018) and Lens (2017). In 2018 he returned to Belgium to work at Antwerp. In the 2020-2021 season, he was on the payroll at Zulte Waregem.

“I feel very fit and I am looking forward to this new challenge,” said Opare. “Since I left Zulte, I maintain my condition under my own power, including with a physical coach in Germany. I miss the match rhythm, but I am convinced that it will come back soon.”

Wagué, 30, comes from Nantes, France, where he has not yet had the chance to play this season. Last season he was loaned to Amiens. Before that, the Malian international defended the colors of his youth club Caen (2011-2014), Udinese (2014-2017), Leicester (2017), Watford (2017-2018) and Nottingham Forrest (2019). He played four times with Mali in the Africa Cup, but was not in the selection for the current African Championship.
