Winter storm hits northeastern United States

WASHINGTON.

The Northeastern United States is preparing to endure a fierce winter storm which will cover the area with a dense snow cover and will obstruct the transport by several days.

The central Ohio received between 7 and 12 centimeters of snow this Sunday morning, which left its streets very slippery.

More snow is expected during the day and even more in Pennsylvania.

Between 3 and 7 centimeters of snow will fall Monday in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, predicted the National Weather Service.

It is even predicted that at some point there will be severe conditions and an accumulation of between 30 and 45 centimeters of snow.

Temperatures will be between 6 degrees Celsius below zero and 1 degree Celsius below zero in the New York metropolitan area.

It should start to snow Monday morning in Massachusetts, and by the afternoon there will be a 12-inch accumulation of snow.

Winds of between 56 and 80 kilometers per hour are also forecast, enough to knock down trees.
