Windows 11 Insider Build Unveils “Shared Audio“: A Game-Changer for Multi-Speaker Setups
Microsoft is quietly rolling out a significant audio enhancement in the latest windows 11 Insider build, codenamed “Shared Audio.” This innovative feature, spotted in the Quick Settings menu, promises to revolutionize how users manage audio output, allowing for simultaneous sound distribution to multiple devices without the need for complex third-party applications.
For years, Windows users have grappled with the limitations of playing audio to more than one output device. The existing workaround,Stereo Mix,is often plagued by technical glitches and can lead to frustrating feedback loops. More robust solutions typically involve intricate setups with applications like Voicemeter or OBS, which can be daunting for the average user.
The newly discovered “Shared Audio” feature simplifies this process dramatically. Users will soon be able to select multiple audio devices – be it speakers or headphones – directly from the Quick Settings panel and enable shared audio with a simple click.
