Windows 10 supports wireless file transfer to and from Samsung phones

There are many applications that help in the transfer of files from your smartphone to the computer and vice versa wirelessly and easily, but Samsung and Microsoft want to provide you with that without the need for any applications from other companies, only via Windows 10 officially.

In the latest trial version available from Windows 10, you can wirelessly transfer your files to some Samsung phones with just a simple drag and drop. This feature currently supports at least the Galaxy S10 and S20 phones.

The feature is using Microsoft’s Your Phone application and the Link to Windows feature within Samsung phones, which after activating it, you can choose the files that you want to transfer between the computer, the smartphone, and both parties.

Now let’s talk about the limitations of this process, it supports a maximum file size of 512MB per file, so you cannot transfer your big movies through it. It is also limited to 100 files per batch, so if you want to send your full albums of pictures, you will have to send them in batches, as the phone and the computer must be on the same wireless network, therefore you cannot send remotely, and this feature does not support all Samsung smart phones.

Despite these limitations, they remain better and safer support, and Microsoft will later provide them to all Windows users. We do not yet know which phones support them.

Hopefully one day this support and ease will be present on the Android domain officially so that the rest of the companies can use it and not only Samsung.
