The actor Will Smith he ventured by talking about the racism he has experienced throughout his life on the podcast of Jon favreau: I’ve been called black to my face probably five or six times.
It was all due to the interview while promoting his new series on Netflix last Monday, Amend: The Figth for Amrica, where the singer spoke of one of the episodes in which he explored the Fourteenth Amendment and the definition of citizenship.
In the middle of the conversation, the protagonist of The Prince of Rap said that while advancing his career in Hollywood he began to see the ideas of systematic racism.
And fortunately for my psyche, I have never been called ‘black’ by an intelligent person, “Will Smith continued. I have never looked a racist in the eye and seen something he perceived as intellect,” he added.
“Consider in the future”: Will Smith plans to take the road to the US presidency.
“But deep down, I noticed a difference between ignorance and evil,” he said, then added: Now they are twins, sure, but ignorance can be educated and evil is a much more difficult problem.
“Fortunately, ignorance outweighs blatant evil. That is why I have always been encouraged that the process of education and understanding can alleviate some of the most dangerous and difficult aspects of racism that, sadly, have taken root in the very fibers of our country, he said.
