A few days after Elon Musk attacked Microsoft founder Bill Gates for his views on the future of electric cars, which Gates believes will not solve the future of traditional transportation, Bill Gates was asked in a press interview with Bloomberg Agency, will Elon Musk become the next Steve Jobs?

Gates said in response to a question: “If you know people personally, this kind of oversimplification seems strange,” referring to the difficulty of likening Elon Musk to the late Steve Jobs, who led the rise of the American company Apple.

Gates added that there are clear differences between the way Gates operates at present and the manner in which the late Steve Jobs was employed.

He continued, “It seems to me that Musk has a lot of experience with regard to engineering work, but Jobs was a genius in design and in selecting people and marketing. You simply cannot enter a room where the two are present and get mixed up about them.”

In the differences between the two men, Gates cited a previous speech by Mask, in which he said that he works around the clock, seven days a week, to solve the problems facing his business without referring to the team working with them and the ability to choose the right people to solve those problems instead of solving them himself.

“When it came to Steve Jobs, he was really adept at motivating the people around him,” Gates added. “I could see how he could motivate them, and I would look at people’s faces afterwards and see them really fascinated by what he had to say.”

In another interview last August, CNBC released excerpts of it, Gates said he was jealous of Steve Jobs’ charisma and how he succeeded in getting the job done well, describing him as a “genius” person.

Returning to the comparison between Jobs and Musk, Gates concluded his conversation with Bloomberg, saying, “Each of them is different from the other … the style of work is not very similar.”
