Wilders had ‘nice conversation’ with Yesilgöz about his tweet

PVV leader Wilders and VVD minister Yesilgöz of Justice and Security had a conversation at the department about the tweet from the PVV leader at the end of December. Wilders found the “without doubt a good and pleasant” conversation, he said on Twitter tonight. And via the same medium, the minister responded with the words: “I thought so too! thank you”.

At the end of December, Wilders criticized Yesilgöz, who would lead the Ministry of Justice and Security with her dual nationality. He tweeted: “A VVD member of Turkish descent on Justice. Now let’s hope she doesn’t lift my security because they would of course prefer to see me disappear under the grass.”

The VVD politician then tried to call Wilders, but he did not pick up the phone. At that time she was State Secretary for Climate and Wilders felt that he had nothing to discuss with her.

Border

Wilders’ tweet and his response provoked furious reactions from a number of political parties in the House of Representatives. Prime Minister Rutte thought that Wilders “had fallen through a border”, he said in the debate about the government statement. Rutte: “Here it would be so strong to say once: I should have picked up that phone, to say to Dilan ‘oh, that was just not very nice of me’.” D66 party chairman Paternotte thought that Wilders should have apologized.

It is unknown whether Wilders has apologized and how the conversation went. When asked, the spokesperson for Yesilgöz says that he cannot say anything more about the conversation. The spokesman for PVV leader Wilders has not yet responded.
