Georginio Wijnaldum admits that sometimes they are less loved and less appreciated when in uniform Liverpool. club legend, Jamie Carragher make a scathing comment!

Georginio Wijnaldum has finally officially joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Wijnaldum’s contract expired at the end of last June and accepted the proposal PSG.

The 30-year-old player is tied to a contract at the Parc des Princes for three years, or until 2024. The Dutch midfielder is believed to be making a midfield PSG getting stronger.

Reported from The Guardian, Georginio Wijnaldum had admitted to feeling less loved and less appreciated Liverpool. Therefore, he decided to terminate his contract and join PSG.

“There are times when I feel less loved and appreciated here (Liverpool),” he said recently.

“Not from the team or the club, but there are several other parties. Of course also from social media, when something bad happened I was blamed and told to leave,” he continued.

Wijnaldum said he always gave his best on the field. But indeed, sometimes he actually looks bad and doesn’t help the team.

“When they blamed me, I just thought wow don’t you guys know what I’ve been doing all this time,” he explained.

“Every day in training sessions I always work optimally. Over the years, Liverpool means so much to my heart,” he said.

Georginio Wijnaldum already strengthened Liverpool over five years, from 2016 to 2021. The central midfielder made 237 appearances across all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 16 assists.

Wijnaldum helped lead Liverpool to win the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Georginio Wijnaldum’s words were criticized by the Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher. On Twitter, Carragher commented on the snippet of Wijnaldum’s interview and said, lol!

“I like Gini but it’s not true. He wants more money, the club says no, that’s football!” he insisted.
